The West
The West is a huge area in the United States. Take it from me, I covered seven western states on a trip last summer and still missed two of them. But from a car, it is truly possible to see the vastness and the diversity of the terrain and skies, a landscape artist's dream.
The Southwest has been a favorite subject of mine for 30 years. I travel there at least once a year, and I love the intensity of color, the vast and changing skies, and the seemingly endless vistas. Over the years, I frequently have painted scenes of New Mexico and Arizona, and many times I have done the same subject repeatedly at different times of day and in different seasons.
