I
think of my landscapes as portraits. The earth shows its personality in
its colors, shapes, shadows and expressions. I use watercolor as my medium,
so I am able to catch these changing facets in a shorter amount of time
than with other media. I like the contrast of transparency and opacity
that the medium of watercolor allows to happen.
Much
of my recent work has been done from a trip to Scotland. Recently, I have
also become intrigued with still lifes as a subject. Much of this work
has been done in the studio from sketches, photos and my memory.
